Ensemble Sangineto is an eclectic band which skillfully blends ancient harmonies and sonorities with modern rhythms. Founded
by the Sangineto twins, Caterina and Adriano, whose father is respected Italian luthier Michele Sangineto, they were brought
up hearing famous artists such as Derek Bell of the Chieftains, and Breton harpist and singer Alan Stivell.
With guitarist Jacopo, the experiences of the individual members converge, creating
fresh and new arrangements of traditional Irish, Scottish, Breton, Italian, and original compositions that display influences from
varied musical genres; from classical to folk, Gregorian chant to musicals, from pop to Celtic music. They have performed at renowned venues such as Club Passim and Caffe Lena, and Carnegie Hall’s head artistic director called them “a unique ensemble
indeed.” The band has been chosen twice to be official international showcase performers at the 2024/25 Folk Alliance International Conferences, also gaining there a Library of Congress concert.

Having played all over the world together at such places as: SXSW festival Texas, Glastonbury Festival, UK & Dranouter Festival Belgium - BOX SET UK are in the States in June for their 2025 U.S. tour.
The duo features George Whitfield - who is described in Europe as 'The Jimi Hendrix of the accordion' and (Guitarist / Drummer) Tony Lyons who has played Wembley Stadium & the o2 Arena in London as well as Circle of Friends in Riverton with The Lightyears.
The pair first met in the mid 90s as part of the cult UK folk band Pressgang, touring the world and releasing a series of albums. Outside of that shared history, both have continued to undertake different creative endeavours - George moving to South Wales and immersing himself in the traditional music of the region, while also starting a business restoring and repairing accordions (always his instrument of choice). Tony, meanwhile, formed The Lightyears and toured the UK, US and South Africa as well as founding the Drum Club music education project and working as a session player and sync composer.
On this tour BOX SET UK will play an intimate show consisting of acoustic roots, folk & blues featuring songs from their debut album 'Tinderbox Heart' & covers such as Bohemian Rhapsody (the only acoustic duo to do so in the world).
